Finch west is the same but there arent many major intersections it crosses, and I believe it's below grade when it gets to highway 27.
For the north part of the city they're a cheap solution for transit. But something like the Ontario line should be heavy rail. I also agree that the subways should only be tunneled downtown, and in the burbs use existing rail right of ways or utility corridors and run it on the surface. That's how most european cities do it anyway.
Sheperd LRT should be scrapped and the province or city should bite the bullet and extend the line to Scarborough. It may actually get used if it went somewhere useful
