>>1137039If you can deal with strong winds, fiercely cold winters, and the occasional brutal lake effect snow, Chicago is a great city. It's completely flat, easy to navigate, has decent cycle infrastructure, a decent amount of good bike paths, drivers that know how to react to cyclist (unless they're rocking Wisconsin plates), great public transportation that can take you anywhere in the city, a $10 24-hour unlimited transit pass is an amazing deal that works for both the bus and train, is the biggest most populated city in the heart of Earth's largest system of fresh water lakes that others would mistake for a sea, summers that are worth the winters since Chicago is a coastal city with beaches, and best of all, amazing places to eat everywhere 24/7. My advice though is stick to the safer north and northwest sides of Chicago but don't consider living in the south or west sides unless it's one of the few pockets down there that are good.
t. born and raised Chicagoan, I might sound biased but no other city has made me feel this complete for the reasons I mentioned
