Summer is easier and more fun for mostly obvious reasons but winter touring is less hard than I thought. The cold is annoying but manageable enough. It gets dark early which sucks. Big plus: no mosquitoes. I mostly sleep outside on my trips so that's a non-trivial advantage. Ironically and unfortunately sunburn is still very much an issue even in winter.
A very cool experience overall but I'm looking forward to balmy spring days now.
