The Re 4/4 is still in use for freight and passenger trains, some are over 50 years old. They have plaques on them where it saya what year they were built. They're even used on commuter trains, during my old commute I usually found my train being pulled by a 1968 model. It was a strange composition of 6 double-decker cars (of the kind which are usually used as fixed sets of three cars plus an Re 450 of matching design) and two Re 4/4s, one at either end.
