>>1459584>I do agree with that, enduro bikes are way overkill for normal ridingthat being said, if an average Joe buys an XC bike and wants to do a mountain pass on it or want to try some lighter jumps it would be and underkill, even todays longer lower and slacker XC bikes are too twitchy in my opinion...the early "all mountain" hardtails and fullies with 120+ travel were just right.
In fact, trying lighter jumps and learning some basic moves on modern enduro bikes is way harder for a begginer than trying that on a 2010 type all mountain since more travel and more bus effect so I feel it closes up your options - that is why its all about speed speed speed today and less jumps from beginners or beginners just sessioning stuff. call me a boomer but a lot of "playfullness" has been lost in overdoing the mentioned geometry and that "playfullness" is what made people like mtb in the first place they just forget about it and become mtb-roadies (I do like road bikes as well dont get me wrong).
