The light blue line was the first but now it will run west into the nearby affluent town of Solihull and the airport, and the tram will also achieve the city's goal of connecting all three main train stations in the city - commuter Snow Hill Station, mainline New Street Station, and the yet to be built high speed Curzon Street Station. It will also link the airport.
