Anyway, even a e-bike is economical for many people. If you work downtown in a city, you could be spending $20+ a day for parking
While you can quite likely park the ebike for free

So in less than a year, an e-bike could have paid for itself, in parking costs alone.
Whether you find it more enjoyable than driving, or whether it's faster, really depends on where you live, but for me it's much faster to commute on a (regular) bicycle, than to drive my car.
If you want an e-bike, i'd recommend getting a decent 29er hardtail & a bafang middrive kit.
