Pretty much immune to dozens of random innocent things that could potentially destroy a carbon frame like overtorquing a bolt or squeezing a tube too firmly with your hand or getting knocked over when leaning against the wall. Manufacturing in metal is much easier and better understood than carbon fiber so for a fixed quality of chink slave labor an aluminum frame will probably be better made than the carbon one.
