Almost every kid I see around where I live has their own ebike. Elementary to middle schoolers, not around high schoolers so I'm not sure if it's the same deal with them. One time I talked to some parents who bought their kid an ebike and the kid gets to school on his own, goes wherever he wants on his own, and has no desire to get a car or drivers license. Everything he wants to go to is within biking distance. It's pretty based.
