>>1304250>Walkie talkies dispatchers and all, sure it's cool for the first few times But I don't wanna work the entire time. How big is it? At a certain point that kind of stuff is mandatory.
I've been showing off my club layout here, and it may look big, but in reality five people can work it comfortably without radio, dispatch or trainmaster oversight. Our layout is something like 65 feet by 25 feet.
My club's in Minneapolis, MN. There's another club in Coon Rapids, MN, on the north side of Minneapolis that has a layout atleast three times the size of our club's. They have CTC (automatic signals), radio comms and an actual working dispatcher office with a computer display that shows what locomotive/s is where on the layout.
But the layout is so goddamn big that such things are required. If they weren't there you'd have guys smashing their $200 locos together.
