It seems like there's a ton more variety in tires for 700c x 32.
The Cross Check and Straggler are do everything bikes, and as such they seem to be designed for bigger tires. The pre-built ones come with 700c x 41s. The guy at my bike shop was steering me towards pretty fat tires with a smooth road tread pattern.
The issue there is I've been reading about all these amazing tires. Continental Gatorskins. Continental Grand Prix 4 Season. Tires that are supposed to be have extremely high puncture resistance, and the GP 4 Season actually has pretty low rolling resistance to boot.
It doesn't seem like I'd have the myriad of options with 700c x 41.
One other thing. The Wabi Cycles handlebar I like the best is their Riser Bar. But it's 19.25 inches wide. I've never ridden a handlebar that narrow. All my bikes have had handlebars around 25 inches wide. So I'd be losing about 6 inches, or 3 inches on each side.
Would I even notice? Would I find the bike to be too fiddly? I know longer handlebars give better leverage but I don't know at what point handlebars are too short for comfy riding.
