There has got to be a smart way to do this but I'll be damned if I can think of it.
I'm trying to file an indent into a 4ft long piece of wood similar to the black lines in pic related, so that I can slot the pieces of my backscene together and have them be flush together.
I'm not an expert on woodworking though and I'm working with a manual hand file and limited tools here, but I'm struggling to figure out a good way to position and hold the file straight in place so I can shave a couple of mm out of this piece of wood.
What's the correct way to go about it? Is there a way I can do it with limited tools?
