New hire blacks who the government hires willy jolly off the gangbanging streets of Baltimore and Jacksonville who hate white guys because they are racist and hate Filipinos because the Filipinos call them slurs
Military dropout alcoholic whites who think they’re too good for their jobs and are racist to Filipinos and blacks
Africans who are racist to everyone including black Americans and cannot do anything right
This creates a tense work environment where people often get in fist fights and even stabbed. MSC will not fire an unlicensed for stabbing someone else, by the way.
Not to mention the schizophrenic and bipolar people who oh so commonly work in the industry, as well as a decent amount of drunkards who go out on a weekday, get plastered and uber back to the ship at noon the next day only to pass out on the mess deck. This can be anyone from unlicensed wipers to the captain himself.
Working with MSC is like being in hell. Nobody knows how to do their job, the captains cannot moor for shit, and I have seen many many injuries because that’s what happens when you take inner city black people with zero training and tell them to work with ammunition and mooring lines
