Is it worthwhile to "upgrade" a bike's drivetrain? Or is it best not to mess around with the drivetrain that was originally installed?
I ask because I'm still a novice with a 7 speed hybrid bike. And the thing I feel is that it's hard to climb inclines, but once both the forward and rear gears are in their fastest ratios, it feels slower than just freewheeling down a hill.
Idk if this is normal, or this is just a bike that's just been designed around flat terrain.
Is it worthwhile to "upgrade" to a different drivetrain? I realise that the gear selector, derailleur and cassette would all need to be changed. Idk about the crank, but I seem to just struggle up inclines, and on flat ground it feels like I start to get to speeds where I feel no resistance in the pedals at gear 7, "H" resistance.
