It changes entire bike since more cantis arent good (Ive done the same on my 90s mtb and its totally worth eat), dont bother on being "period correct", think instead on what makes it look and feel nice. Keep rear tire cheap so you can drift like a kid without feeling guilty. PS-avoid those horrid looking quill to ahead adapters.
also, what 60mm riser bar have you used? how much?
