What you posted is definitely enthusiast tier. My experience is that about 40 minutes is the limit for a bike commute. Past that point the enjoyment drops off, and it feels much more like a chore. Everyone's different though.
I don't know anything about your area specifically, but I commute through the suburbs in Pittsburgh, so I commiserate. I'd say don't be too focused on "riding 100% of the time". There's plenty of times when it makes sense to take a set of steps, or take the sidewalk for a 1/4 mile up some steep ass street, etc.
