Lads, I am coming from a cross bike with Shimano DeoreXT, 3 rings in the front and 11-32 cassette.
I have been riding in the 38 ring for years.
Switching to a road bike starting this month with 52-36 I was fearing that the big ring might be too much for me to even turn the pedals on the flats.
Now the revelation is that 52 doesn't feel that much harder for whatever reason. Could it be a faulty chain or whatever?
It feels like I am already spinning out with 52-11 when going 60 km/h down hill. How is this possible?
The 36 ring feels ridiculous easy and will only come into play for steep hills or when I am blown out/tired.
