>>1365528 you can consider getting a cruiser/comfort with a bit more aggressive positioning. Check out the Marin Stinson and the Raleigh Detour. Both those have a 3x7 with a megarange in the back that makes climing hills easy. I got my 70 year old grandma a Detour step-thru and she loves it bombs around everywhere because she can spin up the hills then shift into the big ring and bomb down and on the flats use the middle ring. She had never ridden a bike with more than 3 gears and I taught her in 10 minutes.
