I'm wanting to do something with all the track, scenery and trains I've built up over the years. Due to lack of space, I'm thinking of doing DC modules so I can snap them together. I'd also like to make them stackable.
Has anyone done something like this? I figure if I leave an edge around the side, I can have holes on the flat base and corresponding pegs in the bottoms and they can slot together. Buildings could have magnetic bases so I can take them off.
I'm wondering what to do the base in though. Seems like there are T track modules available, but mostly in wood. Would that be fine? I know wood bases have been fine for decades but if I just get a sheeting place to do several plastic sheets, that might be lighter and easier to work with.
Any thoughts? Should I just use wood? I dont imagine warping would be an issue for such small sizes.
