Started as a Schwinn Varsity someone crashed and sold on Craigslist for $15.
This was my commuter for a few years.
I had a bunch of Schwinn and other parts laying around and decided 'fuck it,' and started fiddling with it.
Laced on Sun CR18 rims- re-used the original spokes (not much wear on them and the reach was exactly the same, so 'fuck it, budget build, why not?').
Then the stem off an early Schwinn Super Sport I think, the bars off a Schwinn Continental (basically "schwinn Varsity, but with a couple alloy parts and quick release hubs.")
Superbe pro levers. SunTour "hi-normal" type front shifter.
Dunno wtf to do about getting the seatpost looking better, but for me it was 'function first.' Probably gonna try grinding it, but I'm open to suggestions.
