Are bicycle cables universal? Or are they unique to a specific frame, shifter, and hubs?
And is it normal to need almost zero preload on your hubs bearings? I had the nuts just barely more than fingertight and when I tightened the axle nuts, the chainstay/dropouts squeezed the hub together so there's no freeplay. Gut feeling says that's overtightening the axle nut and undertightening the hub bolt.
