>>1749533hi, it's me, your resident piece of s, I need a really good glove recommendation. I recently lost one of my good gloves, wore out my other good ones, and all the three sets of new gloves I bought are garbage and my hands still freeze and I'm having a difficult time finding good gloves. I even tried mitts and they're no good, my thumbs still freeze and my fingers get sweaty after a few hours of riding which then freezes.
In return, I'll give my 'professional advice' for winter biking that's carried me through 5-6 hours of daily winter biking for past 6 years going into 7. Goretex jacket (or camel-tex for budget, this what I use), kamik boots (trust Canadians when it comes to winter gear), balaclava, glove liner, insulated glove, and thermal socks. For the coldest days, wear a glove liner inside the insulated glove. Don't wear boots and gloves too tight as well, it restricts blood flow and makes your hands and feet freeze faster.
I can't stress enough, good gloves are a must, the windchill hits the hands the hardest and shit gloves really show it when the wind temps drop, it's something that I've always had a hard time finding good gloves too. I think out of all my pairs, only two pairs held me comfortably through 0F days and only one handled a windchill of -40 for 1.5hrs. Underarmour storm glove liner 2.0 are my favorite glove liners and can handle down to 35-40 as standalone gloves if the windchill isn't harsh.
