I like making my bike better. I like maintaining the bike to serve me well for years.
I wholeheartedly enjoy bikes because they're purely mechanical devices and unlike any other commercially available machine they're designed to be serviceable by it's user.
But no, I don't wear spandex, I don't use clip pedals, I don't have drop handlebars and there's no half-meter saddle-to-handlebar drop on my bike.
I don't race, I try to be as oblivious to biker culture as I can. I don't even have a speedometer.
One day I will save up for a brooks saddle and matching leather wraps for my bullhorn bars.
