>>1573892>>1573895>>1574012the point is, 800109 literally DERAILED in what was effectively a 9mph bump on the way back to the shed. and it wasn't just the nose that was damaged, there was significant damage to 4 cars on the unit because, again, it DERAILED. the nose is almost beside the point anyway, because the crumple zone was working as designed.
the mk3s from the HST set were fine, as was the locomotive at the other end. just put a spare engine on and it's good to go out tomorrow. (although I assume they didn't actually do that). with the Azuma™, that would be the entire train out of action for weeks and literal millions in repairs. for a minor fender bender.
the damage to 43300 probably "buffed out", and at their age the noses of the class 43s are mostly polyfilla anyway.
