I was walking my bike across a pedestrian crossing (with a light) the other evening, with some cars waiting to turn through it (that I didn't notice). Had the green. Was looking at my music player and choosing something to listen to. Maybe walking a bit slowly. Stopped to get on my bike 3/4 of the way across and a woman drove into the crossing directly at me and laid on the horn.
Then she swerved infront of me at the last minute. If i had kept crossing through she would have hit me.
The guy behind her then drove right behind me and shouted out
>YOURE A FUCKING WANKER MATE Like yeah maybe I was a bit zoned out and could have crossed faster but I still had the light when they drove at me. And I was walking my bike.
It makes me think the level of hatred directed at climate protesters sitting in the road is actually just a slight escalation of general rage at practically nothing.
