>>1887029This is why I think people in these circles have a severe case of Dunning-Krueger syndrome. They see pictures like this and have knee-jerk reactions, spamming the same memes and never stopping to question anything after they saw a YouTube video on it once. Questions like:
>where exactly are these people coming and going?>an infinitely wide freeway cannot have an infinite number of cars, therefore there must be some sort of limit, right?>what is the elasticity of demand?>what is the population growth of an area?>does this take pressure off of smaller roads, leading to safer roads for cyclists and pedestrians?>does the economic effects of a wide freeway outweigh the land being lost?>was there a study on a potential mass transit corridor here instead? what were the results of that study?
