It was a weekend project, so taking that into account, it took around four months.
As for general difficulty, it wasn't hard (at least by my DIY standards) but did require a lot of prior experience and skill.
You need to be familiar with woodworking and fiberglass to an intimate level, also having a vaccum bag is good for forming the carbon.
Also working with carbon fiber on an amateur level is basically slow suicide.
I am currently planning a 11x2 bamboo road bike but I'm waiting on some paychecks. carbon, epoxy, and aluminium are expensive to buy non-wholesale amounts of.
If you're talking about selling one or something, I don't really have the time or dedication for something like that.
