There's really not much to understand, its mostly just an option for people who dont want to ride with a rack and bags on the side or something like OP that mix it up.

I like it because of how it looks.
Sure it's a learning curve to pack and unpack but however you pack it will always have its center of gravity on the frame and not on the side of the frame which I love.
