It's probably the 1997 model, maybe later, the serial doesn't match any production runs/is wrong.

Looking for a solid step-up from this. New/Used both are fine bang for buck is preferred. I'm ok with putting a little work into it but wouldn't be heartbroken to just get into a brand new one either.
Budget 3K USD I could go a bit above that for the right bike.
I use it mostly for fun/exercise and occasionally commuting.
