>>1272605Americans competed at many Olympics and World Road & Track Champs on Paramounts. They were extremely common in US racing for decades. For most of the 70s the marque sold around 1200 units a year. Paramount started in the 30s. Hell they even sponsored the original team 7/11.
Lots of people have/had a soft spot for them.
After the late 70s they dropped off as competitive racing bikes, but Waterford & Gunnar carry on the legacy (in the paramount factory, run by a schwinn) and still make world class steel frames.
I think some of them are really lovely bikes
Voyageur, Tempo, Super LeTour, Super Sport, all decent bikes also.
