>>1988115We got all the snow. So I just opened a can of IT worms instead. I've got an old large bed scanner that has USB1, firewire and SCSI connectivity and little support from the manufacturer. First tried running in with Windows 10, drivers no go, but I could buy scanning software for $160 that supports it directly.
Plan B, pull out an old Mac mini (no optical drive). No drivers on website so I need to get off CD. But the CD is a hybrid Mac/PC CD and the Mac portion is unreadable on Windows so I can't rip it. So I pulled a drive out of a junk PC and connected it with my USB-IDE adapter. Success. Copy files, only to get error that the software only supports PowerPC CPU on OSX.
Plan C found a barebones driver buried on the manufacturers site. Go to plug in firewire cable ... wrong connector. Get other firewire cable ... also wrong connector ???. Computer has FW800 with 9 pin connector so I need an adapter.
