a cheap thing you can do to get a bit more storage is attach some metal bottle cages to the fork legs with hose clamps (radiator hose clamps, like from an auto-parts store). Round of electrical tape under to protect the paint. Then get just any storage containers in there. Bend the cages to fit whatever size.
That extra bit of storage is super useful and if you put heavy stuff in there it will help weight distribution. You can also, depending on how your cabling works, often straight up just strap a large bag on your bars as well.
