The paul is a hefty ~202g and has no relief machined out to save weight and is 2024 alloy.
The thompson is lighter at ~165g and a bit cheaper. I'm not sure what it's made from, but still looks reasonably strong.
Gonna be a tough decision.

I generally like my bikes to be nondescript, plus i couldn't be bothered cleaning shiny parts all the time.
