The only people who buy into the suburb ideology are middle-class boomers who actually think of their shitty McMansion as their "castle" and driving to Walmart in their dead dino boxes as "freedom".
There are genuinely nice advantages to living in a single-family home. It's how most people used to live in pre-modern times. But as they exist in America and Americanized cultures, with their bluegrass lawns and ridiculously spacious yards and inefficient homes and godawful car-centric street layouts, suburbs are a terrible waste of civilization's space and resources.
