Not everyone needs the latest tech or is looking for that edge anon. I'm perfectly fine with my friction dt shifters and steel frame. I'm probably faster than many garbon fags out there and would be for many more years.
The second to biggest cog is most definitely shot, but I can avoid it and I'll be just fine. 6 cogs is more than enough. I've toured on single speeds so 6x2 is plenty for me.
Cross-chaining on a 7sp cassette is fine, I just avoid the two extremes.
