Ok I finally found the Merchant Mariners hangout.
Just got back from a two week hitch.
Two weeks home, then 6 weeks on headed up north to the Chuchki sea.
Chief engineer, ocean tug moving supplies to Nw Alaska during the good weather.
It’s been a good career. Like many of you, I found it almost impossible to adjust to 9-5 life after working at sea. (Occasionally I’m called into the company shipyard and work normie style)
I have a faithful wife and three young kids (they look just like me, no doubts) but it getting harder to leave them as they get beyond toddler age.
Then again, money is great isn’t it?
