I have like 6k+ miles on various Boosted Boards and you just gotta knock it down a mode or two to get used to the way the board handles. Additionally, tighten your trucks like crazy and gradually make them looser along the way as you get a feeling for how it handles.
At some point you just gotta accept that if you're looking to safely go fast in a straight line, you're not going to be able to have the trucks be set up to also steer a tight corner.
For what it's worth, I also ate shit the first time riding my Boosted Board in like 2015. I put it on the highest mode initially because "how hard can it be right".
