I had been wrapping my home made energy bars in foil, but it would tear when trying to unwrap them so I had to be careful not to eat aluminum. Some aluminize mylar pouches I ordered from Amazon arrived today and should be easier to use on the road.
The pouches are sealed on one end with tear notches and open on the other. I'm not concerned with long term storage so I just use an iron to seal them instead of a vacuum sealer. The pouches are wider than I need so I iron the side a bit and trimmed off the extra.
