Seems like it would end up looking rather uneven and patchy in reality, as nice as it sounds in theory. If I was aiming at maximum visibility I'd probably opt for tons of reflective stickers instead, recently found ones for a leopard pattern you could cover your entire frame in if you had enough of them.
