In Mississauga, Oxford Properties (also the co-developers of Hudson Yards in NYC) has a long-term plan of redeveloping all the parking lots, outparcels, and other undeveloped land of Square One Shopping Centre into a new district. The mall will still remain intact.
The first condo tower is currently selling with additional condos under development applications. The first office tower located at one of the mall's outparcels is under development applications.
Mississauga also plans on redeveloping class C malls across the city (plus the parking lots of Erin Mills) into mixed-use communities.
