Diamondback Topanga, I think it's from 93-94. Got it for 40€, it has a Shimano Exage 300 3x7 groupset with Biopace chainrings and some fresh Deore LX shifters.
I fitted Schwalbe Marathon 26x2 tires, a Selle Italia seat, wider flat pedals, new Shimano cantis and a Topeak rack. It's been an ultra reliable touring machine and my perfect grocery-getter.
It's comfortable for long distance touring but it can also go offroading without trouble. Some weekends I fit Schwalbe Table Top 26x2'25 tires and I get rid of the rack to go offroad and get dirty. It's an absolute blast in the trails and gives me that perfect euphoria/terror mix when descending.
Maybe I'm just getting nostalgic and this thing brings me to my first MTB rides on my father's bike, a 1993 Specialized Rockhopper. Does it really matter? I enjoy this bike.
