I still have a 2010 Kona honky tonk that I used to commute on, but now just use for kayaking trips. I put airless polymer Tannus knock-off tyres on it so I don't have to carry a pump or spare tubes around, so it's "ready to go whenever" instead of fast or comfortable.
Bike goes in the back of the ute around 10-15km down to a spot on the river. I leave the ute there and ride the bike back. Kayak goes in the river behind my house and I'll paddle about 30km back to the ute. Kayak goes on the ute, drive home. It's good fun!
