A commuter train on the Chicago, South Shore & South Bend Railroad apparently passed a red signal protecting a section of gauntlet track over a bridge, hitting another commuter train heading in the other direction. The accident sheared off the side of one of the cars, killing 7 people. One woman was decapitated.
