have you ever had a bare carbon part go bad from UV exposure? like carbon headset spacers or something? fucking chinks sent me a top cap that was scratched to shit and i've been polishing it for hours and it's still not perfect, i'm almost there but there's some visible pitting. the stupid bolt logo is laser etched so it can't be removed but i painted over it with a freezer marker. my stem and spacers are bare carbon too. i will also probably get carbon saddle clamp parts for my seatpost. but i guess i don't need to apply UV protective clear coat to them when i barely ride anyway, it's not like they're a hood/wing on a car that sits in the sun all day.
