>>1952179You could already tell in Poland. There was an eight-kilometer long queue of trucks heading towards Ukraine on the Medyka-Shehyni border crossing. Virtually no individual traffic. On the Ukrainian side it was the other way around, barely any trucks but plenty of cars and foot passengers trying to leave the country.
The lack of men is immediately noticeable once you cross the border. It's hard to quantify but I'd say the women-men ratio on the streets is at least 70-30. All shops, restaurants and street-food places are currently run by women.
