hello there. I have some doubts as im new into real trainning and was hoping you guys could give me a hand.
To give a bit of background: I've been getting into cycling gradually during the last 4 years, from just commuting to riding hard one day and resting the next thinking that was proper traininng. did that for over a year before starting a more decent trainning 3 and a half months ago.
first i did base training for 2 months. basically Z2 riding 4 times a week. last month and a half i have been doing:
-intervals 2X
-a short tempo ride (40k/25mi)
-longer endurance ride (80k/50mi) - sunday
-110k/70mi aprox ride pushing it but mixing a lot of zones. -saturday
weekend rides are group rides, thats why i do them like that, i know it aint optimal.
during rest days i dont ride, maybe go out for half and hour to jump on bmx and do 30 min of pull ups and hand stuff.
i live in the southern hemisphere, so im going straight into summer, not winter.
i was watching this video (vegan cyclist):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZcOUyPji04a few questions:
1- what do you guys think about resting the 4th week of training? also he says you shouldnt stop riding during that adaptation week. what are you suposed to ride during that week? 3 times a week Z2?
2-do you guys think i am training too much? i sleep well and a lot (8-10hrs a day), but sometines during week training i do feel a bit tired. like not giving max. doesnt happen all the times, but sometimes.
3-any suggestions on training rutines? maybe share the one you are doing? or something to read watch? anything i should try or change?
I also recently got a cyclcocomputer with HR monitor. getting used to it. any suggestions on things to do or not to do with it are welcomed.
4- i noticed i tend to have high cadences, sometimes 110-115, is it ok to ride at those cadences or should i lower them a bit and aim to 100?
