A lot of trails in NZ are that or that for sections. And anything really much beyond groomed gravel is faster on a modern mtb. I just find it hard to believe you don't have that stuff. Even a lot of walking trails if allowed are good. Those type of things just naturally exist in rural areas.
Like sure you can ride pic rel type thing on a rigid mtb, or a cross bike, or probably even a road bike, but you can't send it in the same way.
