>>1588418i already had a plug from BBB because my previous bike from a literal who fixie brand had a short plug and i wanted to lower the stem without cutting the steerer tube, and they didn't know how headset bearing preload works so they had jammed the top cap completely stuck in the plug, this was just one of many issues and they ended up taking the bike back for a refund, luckily though i found a good track frameset from ribble to build a replacement bike with my lessons learnt
the BBB plug which has a 40mm clamp area with a 10mm offset weighs 43g without the top cap, 60g with the included alloy top cap and bolt (claimed weight is 58g but i think my scale is fairly accurate because it says a 100g calibration weight weighs 100g and other components in the 300+ gram range come in a couple of grams below the claimed weight)
the ribble OEM plug which has a 55mm clamp area with a 3mm offset weighs 36g without the top cap, 49g with the generic alloy top cap, not sure if they all have the same plug though since they sent me the plug along with a generic top cap separately from my frameset while in the newer pics they have the branded top cap and branded conical spacer
if you get the BBB plug i would suggest using it with a different top cap and bolt or maybe try to remove the top cap logo with acetone because it's pretty much impossible to get the handlebar alignment, top cap logo alignment and headset preload just right all at the same time, also the black finish on the screw looks horrible now after partially rubbing off, i don't mind how a silvery top cap screw looks especially if it matches the stem bolts, seat clamp bolts, brake caliper bolts etc
