And actually a lot of people in the suburbs only live there because there’s few other options in America. It’s not like we have decent transit systems here. That’s why there are so many right-leaning urbanists. American suburbs only became a thing because of decades of social engineering by the federal government. It’s not sustainable.
If you want to learn about development I can recommend a few good books.
And no I’m not implying it’s about desire vs. need, I’m stating it and pointing it out. People are paying a lot to move to city centers and have been since 2010. It’s great and it’s not taking away anyone’s cars or taking away anyone’s cardboard suburb house. It’s just offering a new product people are glad to pay for.
Even though Trump’s tarriffs have raised the cost of construction, multi family continues to grow. It’s awesome.
