>>1532693Basically, there are threaded apparatuses along the brake cable line (and derailleur, which serve a similar function) which add cable tension. If you "unscrew" them, it extends an inner portion which puts force on cable housing , therefore adding cable tension. If you "screw them in," it relieves tension in that system. They are usually found on the frame and brake lever for V brakes. If you look at them head on, turn them clockwise "righty tighty."
